Adaptation
The collage sculptures are in the form of orchids and plants. Inspired by the screenplay by writer Charlie Kauffman, Adaptation is my confrontation about my own relocation, I am uprooted and untethered. At home, plants create a feeling of life and engagement, to nurture and care for an organism.
I recreated copies of the plants in my home. Paper maché techniques were used to create the form.I wanted to take my own recent relocation as an opportunity to create something new. Synthetic imitations of the real and original object. These were for me, three dimensional paintings or physical drawings. I felt the need to understand nature and I found it strange the idea of potted plants, to take them out of their environment and cultivation and taking care of something.
